Well, last weekend was a great one but my best friend had a bad hangover the very next day. We all had gone to a renowned club moreover we were lucky to get a good discount on our drinks. Thanks to the dine out app so we started ordering and got literally high and happy in the night. Well, let’s know exactly what is hangover?

What is Hangover?

Hangover is basically a severe headache which you will feel the very next morning because of the intake of excessive alcohol the previous day. You might feel like puking and weird more of a dizzy type of a feel since ethanol has a dehydrating effect thus makes you feel thirsty and makes you feel uncomfortable.

Causes of Hangover

Well, hangover can be caused because of several reasons which include the direct effect on your body system. It leads to other symptoms as well. The list of causes are as follows:

  • Consumption of alcohol increases the urine production which causes the body to dehydrate even more as compared to the normal time when you are sober.
  • An excessive intake of alcohol can lead to irritation in your stomach and intestines thus causing inflammation inside your body. It can lead to fatty liver, produce gastric acids, problems in pancreatic and intestinal secretions because of which you will end up having a feeling of vomiting, abdominal pain, and nausea.

Hangover Signs and Symptoms

As we all know, every problem has its own signs and symptoms so let’s go through this list and know more about how alcohol can be dangerous for our health moreover doing more of anything is next to worst. Majorly, the symptoms begin when your blood alcohol content drops to zero or near to zero and its usually in full effect in the morning after a night of heavy drinking, depending on what you drank the last night so the list is as follows:

There are few simple home remedies which will help you to cure your hangover. The list is as follows:

Drink more Water

Firstly, kindly remember to drink water as much as possible as it will keep your body hydrated and you will feel much better. It is highly recommended to drink water while having alcohol as well. This means having plenty of water so that it balances out everything and you can avoid a hangover the very next morning.

Remember to have other liquids too. All those drinks which include salt and potassium which you have already lost.

Lemon

Lemon is very effective remedy against the hangover thanks to its antioxidant properties. It can stabilize blood sugar and regulate pH levels, while detoxifying your body from alcohol. Squeeze the juice of a lemon and dilute it in a glass of water. Sip it slowly, until you start feeling better.

Ginger

Try eating ginger as it helps to reduce nausea and vomiting. It is highly recommended to crystallize ginger after you are done with your drinking. It prevents your body from getting a hangover. Adding to this, try having brown sugar before drinking as it even helps you from not getting the dizziness, vomiting, and nausea too.

Never Stop Eating

Keep on eating and don’t concentrate only on drinking since it will help in balancing everything and you won’t even go high thus helping you to avoid the hangover. Well, remember to eat fatty foods like pizza as it helps in digesting everything normally and you should eat something before the intake of alcohol also.

Sugar Balances out Everything

Remember to eat sugar before drinking or while drinking as it reduces the risk of a hangover and you can even wake up like any normal day you usually wake up in the sense. It will be a fresh and a normal morning for you. It actually speeds up the metabolism in your body moreover it is highly recommended to try plain orange juice between the alcohol since it contains sugar and will be one of the best option or mix your drink with some aerated drink.

Eat Slowly

Even if you are not feeling well or whatever, never ever forget to eat and never stop eating while having a drink or before taking up your first drink too. The electrolytes in the food help your body to stay hydrated and you will get those lost calories back too. Remember not to eat everything at once because you will end up vomiting, it’s always better to have smaller bites and have that kind of foods which are easy to digest.
